Sound insulation testing
Since 2003 there has been a requirement for all new non-detached dwellings, whether purpose-built or converted, to meet national standards for sound insulation. This is demonstrated either by registering and complying with Robust Details, or by in-situ testing. Minimum acceptable requirements are specified in Approved Document E of the Building Regulations.
Principal consultant Jonty Stewart now works with RPS in Brighton. New consultancy work is routed through RPS, while island-based measurement and testing services continue to be provided by Jonty.
We provide island-based sound insulation testing for flats, houses, rooms for residential purpose, schools and other buildings, carried out by an ANC-registered tester.
We will liaise directly with building control in order to establish and agree the required number of tests, so that we can provide a stress-free service and an accurate quotation with no hidden costs.
Should the building fail to meet the required standard then we can also provide expert remedial advice.
